Gr.42 Oct.26-30

 Hello Group 42! It’s the last week of October already and Friday is a ped. day. This week we are presenting our favorite book in a “Book Tasting” to the class.

I will also be adding the Classwork to my blog from now on, that way the students at home can keep up with their work.

Videos and lessons will be sent on Google Classroom to go with the lessons I teach. They will only be posted on the day I am teaching that lesson.

·       Book Tasting: Pick a book that you absolutely love, one that you can read over again and that you would recommend for others to read.

·       Fill in the provided “Book Tasting” sheet so that your classmates can get a “taste” of why your book is so amazing and why they should read it. We’ll be presenting it to each other in class.

Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing

·       We will be reading the first two chapters of our novel.

·       Ch. 1 activities on Google Classroom 42 Reading will be completed.

Gr.41 Oct.19-23

Hello Group 41! This week we are going to work on Reading Activities – we will be Reading Detectives and presenting our favorite book in a “Book Tasting” to the class.

Remember, Friday is Dress Down Day for the Children’s Hospital, bring in your $2.

I will also be adding the Classwork to my blog from now on, that way the students at home can keep up with their work.

Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore Google Slides (42 Reading) -

·       Complete the Reading Response Slide if you haven’t already done so.

·       Complete the Figurative Language Slides – Remember to use complete sentences and give many details.

·       Language Power Writing activity (this activity is graded, it must be completed on your own) on pages 22 and 23.

·       Use the topic on page 23 (Planning a Surprise Party) – be sure to include vivid nouns and verbs, contractions, compound words and at least 2 of the similes and idioms found on the top of page 23. Do your first draft in the Language Power book on pages 22 and 23. It must be at least 1 ½ pages. Editing instructions will be sent home to those that are absent, later in the week.

Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday: Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore Google Slides (41 Reading)

  •  Complete the 5 Interesting Things About the Pictures slide (Remember to use complete sentences.

·       Complete the Connections slide in Reading Response Copybook (or looseleaf if you don’t have it)

·       Complete Reading Response for Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore – follow instructions on slide 4. Do your rough draft in the copybook first.

·       Look at the example on slide 5.

·       Then, on the blank side provided, recopy your response there and decorate.


Descriptive Journal (Google Classroom 41 Writing) Complete your first Descriptive Journal on what you like about the season of Fall (one complete slide of writing) then you can decorate that slide and/or add another slide for pictures.


You can also decorate your cover slide (ex: Include your name and some images that represent you. Remember the example we saw in class.)
