Hello Group 43! It was great meeting you all last week at Open House. Here we go with our first homework blog for the year. If there is anyone who doesn’t have pages PE 14 and pg.1 signed, please do so this evening.

We will log on and activate the SWL student account on our Google Chromebooks on Wednesday. I would ask that the students log on at some point this weekend to play a Grammar game that goes with our lessons this week. (It will only be posted Friday).
Using the Google Chrome browser (preferable), they type: classroom.google.com in the address bar. Their username is their student number ex: 12345@swlsb.ca. Password is the one they chose in class. (see post-it in the agenda pocket and leave it at home.) The will enter my class group and use the link provided to play the game. Hello Group 44! Here we go with our first homework blog for the year. If there is anyone who doesn’t have pages PE 14 and pg.1 signed, please do so this evening.

On Wednesday we will have logged on and activated the SWL student account on our Google Chromebooks. I would ask that the students log on at some point this weekend to play a Grammar game that goes with our lessons this week. (It will only be posted Friday).
Using the Google Chrome browser (preferable), they type: classroom.google.com in the address bar. Their username is their student number ex: 12345@swlsb.ca. Password is the one they chose in class. (see post-it in the agenda pocket and leave it at home.) The will enter my class group and use the link provided to play the game. This is a private group and no other students than group 44 will have access to it. Thank-you for your co-operation and I will go over how we will be using the Google Chromebooks/Classroom at Open House Thursday September 7.

Gr.44 Homeroom and Gr. 43: Welcome to Grade 4!

Welcome Groups 43 & 44!
Ms. Telishewsky’s Grade 4 Blog

A big hello and welcome to all my new students and parents for the 2017/2018 school year!!! I am the homeroom teacher for group 44 (room 201) as well as the Math and English Language Arts instructor for groups 43 & 44. Until the month of December, I am happy to be working with Miss Provias, a student teacher from McGill.

Please bring the following:

1) Pencil crayons
2) 4 boxes of Kleenex
3) 2 containers of disinfectant wipes
4) A small hand sanitizer for lunch box

During the school year, I will be posting homework and announcements on this blog. I will update it during the week if necessary. Mme Gallant and I will continue working on The Paper Friendly Classroom. We each have a class set of Google Chromebooks we will be using regularly in class. Some activities will be assigned through Google Classroom; an educational free web based platform and learning network that we will set up at school. Students can access their work from anywhere using the Google Classroom app or signing in on a computer. I encourage you to use the link found on this blog page to learn more about it. I will be getting the students started on it next week.

I am sending home an invitation for both students and parents to make a Class Dojo account. You will be able to keep up to date with your child’s behaviour and receive messages from me.

Please read the agenda this week. Fill in the student information area. Go over the rules with your child. Sign all the appropriate areas: pages PE-14 & pg.1. Please ensure you read and sign the SWL Computer Policy and Online Safety link.

Please label the Math books. The Numbers Reference Book may be kept at home for studying.

Notes:

· Scholastic will be my responsibility for both groups. I will send the envelope home for both French and English. Remember Scholastic only accepts cheques or you may pay online. No CASH please.

· Curriculum Night will be held Thursday September 7. I will discuss our program and give insights into our daily class life.

Group 41

Welcome back group 41! We already find ourselves at the end of the year. Let’s wrap up grade 4 with a fun week! Here’s a look at what’s going on this week.

Wednesday: Music Concert in the afternoon. Make sure you have your recorder.

Thursday: Afternoon fun and games. Bring in your favorite board game and a special treat for yourself.

Friday: Fun Day – please come to school with sunscreen already applied (keep a tube in your bag), a labeled water bottle and hat.  Free Dress - must wear running shoes and athletic wear. There will be water games so boys may wear their swim shorts and girls can put their bathing suits under. Remember to bring a change of shorts and underwear. Lunch will be provided.

It has been a wonderful school year and an absolute pleasure being your child’s teacher. Everyone has made progress and grown up just a little more. I wish everyone a great summer and success in grade 5!
