Gr. 42 Sept. 2-6

Hello Group 42! Here we go with our first homework blog for the year. Please look back at last week's "Welcome" blog entry if you haven't already done so. Remember to fill in the agenda and return the Health Forms.

Students will need their red math duotangs for the Wednesday/Friday switch periods during French week.

On Thursday we will have logged on and activated the SWL student account on our Google Chromebooks. I would ask that the students log on at some point this weekend to play a Grammar game that goes with our lessons this week. (It will only be posted Friday).

Using the Google Chrome browser (preferable), they type: classroom.google.com in the address bar. Their username is their student number ex: 12345@swlsb.ca. Password is their student number. They will enter my class group and use the link provided to play the game. As discussed at information night, this is a private group and no students other than group 42 will have access to it.

Spelling:
*Unit 1 – due Friday September 6. It has been worked on in class during the week. If incomplete, it becomes homework Thursday night. There are no weekly spelling tests. There will be one test per term using lessons 6, 12 &18.

Math:
Monday: -

Wednesday: stencil 1-1 (side 1)
Thursday: stencil 1-1 (side 2)
Friday: stencil 1-2 (side 1 Number 1 only)

Welcome Groups 41 & 42! Ms. Telishewsky’s Grade 4 Blog

 A big hello and welcome to all my new students and parents for the 2019/2020 school year!!! I am the homeroom teacher for group 42 (room 201) as well as the Math and English Language Arts instructor for groups 41 & 42.

During the school year, I will be posting homework and announcements on this blog. Each entry will be labeled with the appropriate group number, 42 or 41. I will update it during the week if necessary or send a message through Class Dojo. 

Mme Gallant and I will continue working on The Paper Friendly Classroom. We each have a class set of Google Chromebooks we will be using regularly in class. Some activities will be assigned through Google Classroom; an educational free web based platform and learning network that we will set up at school. Students can access their work from anywhere using the Google Classroom app or signing in on a computer. I encourage you to use the link found on this blog page to learn more about it. I will be getting the students started on it this week.

Library: Monday

Phys. Ed. will be on Tuesday and Friday

(A pair of running shoes used solely for the gym are necessary)

Music: Wednesday

Please read the agenda this week. Fill in the student information area. Go over the rules with your child. 

Sign and return Health Form and SWL Computer Policy and Online Safety Form.

Please label the Math books and Language Power. The Numbers Reference Book may be kept at home for studying.

Please send in a set of ear buds for the Chromebook (and a small mouse, with a wire, if they would like to use one). 

Notes:

· Scholastic will be my responsibility for both groups. I will send the envelope home for both French and English. Remember Scholastic only accepts cheques or you may pay online. No CASH please.

· Please bring in a reusable water bottle every day (no metal please).
